Built on the “pay-it-forward” culture of Neighbors-helping-Neighbors USA, this program offers weekly sessions focused on resume reviews, interview strategies, and leveraging AI-driven resources for career advancement. Participants gain access to a supportive community, one-on-one coaching, and curated job leads, ensuring they stay motivated and connected throughout their job search journey.

Neighbors-helping-Neighbors (NhN) is a peer-led, volunteer networking and support group focused on helping individuals in career transition—unemployed, underemployed, recent graduates, veterans, and small business owners—through a “pay it forward” model. Their culture emphasizes networking, accountability, and mutual support to reinvigorate job searches and foster community connections.

Open-to-Work Support Program

“Connecting Talent with Opportunity—One Share at a Time- Neighbors-helping Neighbors.”

At NhNUSA, we believe in the power of community and networking. To help job seekers gain visibility and connect with opportunities, we’ve launched an Open-to-Work Support Program.

​How It Works:

• Whenever someone in our network is looking for a job, I share their post on LinkedIn with my 23,000+ connections. This gives their profile and post significant exposure, helping them reach recruiters and hiring managers.
• I also create dedicated “Open to Work” posts to highlight individuals actively seeking new roles.

How You Can Help:

• If you see one of these posts on LinkedIn, please share it with your own network. Every share amplifies the reach and increases the chances of connecting job seekers with the right opportunities.
• By participating, you’re not only helping someone find a job—you’re also helping us grow NhNUSA by attracting new members who value collaboration and support.

How to Share Posts on LinkedIn
Sharing posts is one of the easiest and most impactful ways to help job seekers gain visibility. Here’s how you can do it:
Option 1: Share Directly from the Post

1. Find the Post
   • When you see an “Open to Work” post or any job-seeking post in your feed, click on it.
2. Click “Share”
   • Below the post, you’ll see options: Like, Comment, and Share. Click Share.
3. Add Your Message
   • Write a short note to your network, such as:
     • “Please help amplify this job seeker’s post by sharing. Let’s support our community!”
4. Post It
   • Click Post to share it with your connections.

Option 2: Share with Your Own Thoughts

1. Copy the Post Link
   • Click the three dots (…) on the post and select Copy link to post.
2. Create a New Post
   • Go to your LinkedIn homepage and click Start a post.
3. Paste the Link & Add Context
   • Paste the link and write why you’re sharing it:
     • “Helping professionals in transition! Check out this candidate’s profile and share if you can.”
4. Publish
   • Click Post.

Best Practices for Sharing

• Add a Personal Touch: Explain why you’re sharing and encourage others to help.
• Tag the Person: Use “@” followed by their name to tag them.
• Use Hashtags: Include hashtags like #OpenToWork, #JobSearch, #Networking for better reach.
• Engage After Posting: Like and comment on your own post to boost visibility.

✅ Tip: Sharing takes less than a minute but can make a huge difference for someone looking for a job.

How to Add the “Open to Work” Badge on LinkedIn

1. Go to Your Profile
   • Log in to LinkedIn and click on your profile picture or name to open your profile page.
2. Click “Open to”
   • Under your profile photo and headline, you’ll see a button labeled “Open to”. Click it.
3. Select “Finding a New Job”
   • From the dropdown, choose “Finding a new job”.
4. Fill in Job Preferences
   • Add details like job titles, locations, start date, and job types (full-time, remote, etc.).
5. Choose Who Sees You’re Open
   • You’ll have two options:
     • All LinkedIn Members – This adds the green “Open to Work” photo frame to your profile picture.
     • Recruiters Only – This keeps it private and only visible to recruiters using LinkedIn Recruiter.
6. Click “Add to Profile”
   • Once you confirm, the green circle will appear around your profile photo if you selected All LinkedIn Members.

✅ Tip: Make sure your profile photo is clear and professional since it will be highlighted with the green badge.
